Daily Bible Verse

1 John 4:18
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

Saturday Concert

The sun rose over a glistening Revere Beach, in the New England state of Massachusetts. The Reach the Beach Ministry met at the bandstand, unloaded a van full of tables, chairs, plastic totes, and the like. Volunteers began arriving and the setup began. Tables were lined up in front of the Pavilion just to the north of the bandstand. Merchandise, biblical literature in multiple languages, and information sheets were put in place and our local vendor friends showed up to take their stand alongside of the RTB tables. The Christian Motorcycle Association, Dedham Chapter, joined us with their ministry. North Shore Christian School also had a table with their information set up, too. The rest of the tables were placed for the local artists to sell their merchandise: neighboring Lynn artist, Bobby Bishop; Marblehead musicians, Tom Conlon & Maeve; and Maine rock band, The Wrecking.

Our sound engineers arrived early with their truck full of equipment, which was set up quicker than you can say “RTB", with the help of some super volunteers and the sound team. Everything seemed to be in place. Now all that RTB needed was the talent! The Wrecking was the first to arrive for an early sound check and soon after them, came the rest.

Kicking off the RTB concert was 3 piece girl band, Maeve, singing their folk-pop tunes with joy! They cruised their way through their catchy set of songs like a ship on the sea. The following act was Revere's very own, Tori Coots performing a touching song she sang from her heart. The Arab Evangelical Church was then up to sing an Arabic worship song and speak a very powerful prayer, that brought many to the front of the bandstand, raising their hands and worshiping with all they had to give to God. Katrina Holland took the stage next singing "You'll Come" by Brooke Fraser. Her husband, Matt accompanied her on guitar.

The 316 Puppet Team came out to play with the kids and act out a skit about going back to school. Tom Conlon, jazzed up his 35 minute set with his acoustic guitar and sweet sounding vocals. DJ Triple Threat & Bobby Bishop, our local rap artists, each ripped up the stage with their hip-hop beats and foot tapping sound. In between the two of them were the previous week performers, The Supreme Court Jesters doing a great job with their juggling and magic acts, Worship Frontier Church, and Bridgton Alliance Worship Team singing and playing music for the Lord. After those acts came the Cambodian Evangelical Church praying and singing a song in Khmer. To add an amazing end to the day was Christian rock band, The Wrecking. They gave a 45 minute set full of old songs and new. Audience members were singing along and literally dancing in the street.  After all the fun was through, it was time to get serious. Matt Holland gave an incredible Sermon that touched the hearts of all that were around. There was not a dry eye in sight. His message led to an altar call that brought forth several people and some others later that day.

Matthew 11:28 says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." That is the RTB message given through the Lord and Jesus Christ, to all who listen.
