Joyful, Joyful!
Reach the Beach began it's Friday morning, once again, loading up the van and setting everything up at the beach. It looked like another beautiful day was starting and God was going to work in many lives.
RTB started off the day with the Bridgton Alliance Worship Team filling the fresh beach air with musical notes of joy! People from the beach were so enthused they joined right in and sang along to the worship tunes.
The great thing about the open beach area, is that it leaves space for passerby's to stop and see what is going on and gives them an opportunity to stay and be witnessed to.
Today brought RTB many volunteers who did a wonderful job behind the tables talking to people, cleaning things up, and just being a witness. It was so amazing to see how God can use a group people for His glory. 1 Corinthians chapter 12 talks about many parts in one body. This week has been a great example of this passage at work!
Late morning showed signs of promise as a group of children in matching green t-shirts were chaperoned down the beach. They stopped by the RTB tables for a bite to eat and RTB talked with them about Jesus and sang the familiar tune, "Jesus Loves Me." The kids knew most the words, and sang right along.
Again today, there were more people coming to know Jesus, another person went to detox, and RTB talked and prayed with a lot of other people, too.
We also had the Supreme Court Jesters return to RTB, Youth Group Activities for the kids, and more Face Painting. Some of the RTB teens even wrote Bible verses on the sidewalk, in chalk, which intrigued many people to stop and check it out!
Today's events closed with the Worship Frontier Church. They kicked off their segment with a dance to the famous “Joyful Joyful” that was sung by Lauryn Hill in the 1993 movie Sister Act. Following the dance was some beautiful instrumental music flowing through the warm night's air. They topped off the end with Praise and Worship music, gathering more people than we have seen, at one time, all week. The pavilion lights glistened in the dark night as the sounds of praise to God were permeating down the Revere Beach boulevard. We packed up the van to the echoes of beautiful voices lifting their praise to the King.
We are still in need of volunteers for tomorrow's RTB Concert. Feel free to just come down and seek anyone wearing a Senior Staff badge! Thank you!
